Some people find it easier to burn fat than others. It is all due to their metabolic rate. The higher your metabolism is, the faster it is your body uses the calories it has stored and the easier it is to lose weight. Basically, a higher metabolism burns fat faster for you even when you’re resting, so it’s a 24/7 fat burning furnace which is working inside of you.
Metabolism depends a lot on your genetic makeup, but there are things you can do to boost your metabolism regardless if you were burn with a fast or a slow one. Here are 4 tips you can and should begin using today:
1. Eat Small and Often – Our metabolism fluctuates during the day with each meal and snack. The farther away we are from our last meal, the slower our metabolism becomes. You can’t be sure how long needs to pass between meals for the metabolism to begin slowling down, but it’s still something that you need to take into account. You can keep your metabolism running at a higher level by eating many small meals often rather than 2-3 big meals far apart. Try to eat 4-6 mini meals and snacks each day. This will help your metabolism to run faster during the day.
2. Do weight training – many people who try to lose weight do so by doing a lot of cardiovascular activity. I love cardio myself, but a better way to go would be to incorporate some weight training (or bodyweight exercises) into your workouts. The reason is that muscle tissue increases your metabolism because muscles require a lot of calories to sustain themselves. The more muscle tissue that you have, the more calories that you burn even while you’re resting or sleeping. Do some weight training and you will get leaner all over your body.
3. Eat some metabolic invigorating foods – There are some foods which the body finds difficult to digest and so uses a lot of calories in the digestive process. Eating these foods will help your body to burn more calories naturally.
This isn’t a constant metabolic boost, but even a small increase has its benefits. These foods include: certain protein rich foods like cod and trout, and some fruit and vegetables like apples, berries, celery, grapes, and cabbage.
Again, don’t eat too much of these foods since it won’t be healthy unless you eat in moderation.
4. Make sure to sleep enough hours each night – This is true for both your health and your weight. Your body needs sleep and if you want to get a higher metabolism you’ll be sure to give it just that. I recommend 7 hours of sleep, at the very least, for an adult.
Apply these 4 tips, begin burning fat faster and look great.
