Why I Hate Fitness Equipment Infomercials

I have to be honset: I hate infomercials and I usually hate the fitness machines they promote. The reason is simple: I think that most of these fitness machines are scams or very close to it and I don’t like the way that they’re advertised.

Let me begin with the models

These infomercial producers know how to hire the best looking, hottest models with the great body’s and have them show us how to use their fitness gizmo. What they’re trying to plant in our mind is the notion that these models got their hot bodies by using this machine.

This isn’t true. No one looks this good by doing crunches on a machine like the Ab Rocket or the Ab Circle Pro. It just doesn’t happen. This is the result of years of hard work at the gym and of careful and often planned eating routine.

The quick promise

Another thing I dislike is that these infomercials always play the ‘easy game’. Work for just 3 minutes a day and you get flat abs. Now you don’t need to spend hours doing cardio, this gives you the same stimulation in minutes. I’ve seen claims like these many times. Guess what? They’re not true. I don’t trust them one bit.

As someone who’s lost weight I know that it’s often a struggle. It takes will, determination, and hard work. Making empty promises can destroy a person’s motivation and I want no part of it. None whatsoever.

Quality

I can’t say that this is true for all fitness machines, because I haven’t tried them all, and some are good, but there are a lot of machines which are simply low quality in terms of production and material. They aren’t sturdy, some of them are just plain uncomfortable, and many of them tend to break or fall apart after a short while.

All in all, I’m in favor of either working out at the gym or getting some dumbbells and working out at home. I know that some of you may love a certain machine. If you found one that works, good for you!

However, if you’re skeptical about a machine, don’t buy it. There’s a good chance that it doesn’t really work.
