Hi,
One of the main reasons people give to not go the gym is that it just takes too long to do a worthwhile workout. Naturally, this is an excuse but just to play the game, I challenge you to try and see if you can’t do a full body workout in 30 minutes or less.
The first thing you need to do is follow the 6 Tips to Do More at the Gym post from 3 days ago. After you do that, check out how I reduced my workout time to virtually nothing. And just so you know, I’ve never felt better about my workouts.
How to workout in half an hour?
The first thing I need to clarify is that this is purely for a strength workout and does not include cardio. If you want to add cardio, it will take you at least 45 minutes to do it properly.
However, for just a weight training workout, 30 minutes is quite enough for me, and it’s not an easy workout. Not at all.
The basic principle is that we’re going to give each body part just 2-3 sets. I used to do as many as 15 in the past, so you can imagine what a gym slave I used to be.
I usually do 3 sets for the chest and back, and 2 sets for the rest: legs, biceps, triceps, and shoulders. You can also do 3 sets for your abs.
The key is to keep your rest time between set for a minute. Don’t go more than that because you’ll just be wasting time. In total, this is 15 minutes of resting time. At to that the time it takes you to do a set (less than a minute) and you can wrap up your entire workout in half an hour.
But is this effective, John?
Good question. I can only say that I have seen my muscle tissue develop nicely ever since I started this, I feel great, and I don’t get any workout related pain. I also get a lot more free time this way.
Try it out and let me know how this works for you.
