Do you Hate Being Fat Without Hating Yourself?

A lot of people hate being fat. It’s understandable, really. But the important thing is to not hate yourself for being fat in the process.

I remember how I was before I lost weight. There were times when I not only disliked the way I looked, I disliked myself for being that way. During that time I tried to shed pounds many times but never succeeded. Either the weight didn’t melt off or it just came back with a vengeance a short time afterward.

The reason was that I didn’t love myself enough to make a positive change in my life.

It was only when I learned to separate the fact that I was overweight from my perception of the person who I was that I began to really lose weight. When I did, it happened fast and it never came back. It’s been years now.

The main thing that I want you to take from this post is that you are not just the number of pounds on the scale. This is just a small part of you and a temporary one. You are a complete person with the will and the capability to change your life and how you look.

Think back on all that you’ve accomplished in life and you’ll realize that you can love yourself without being satisfied with your weight. Once you learn that, the road to being leaner will be much easier. It was this way for me. I am sure it will be the same for you.

So, you can hate being fat, but you still need to love yourself.
