Wouldn’t it be great if we could eat whatever we want and still lose weight?
I know that my pizza intake would rise dramatically. Maybe I’d eat more ice-cream too.
However, as we all know, this is just a fantasy. In real life we need to be a bit more strict. If we want to lose weight we need to cut out the things that we love to eat. That’s what makes it so hard.
But wouldn’t it be nice if we could eat what we want and still shed body fat? Maybe not every day, but every once in a while?
Well, expert diet and fitness author Jon Benson claims that you can. In fact, his renowned program the Every Other Day Diet, has been working for people who eat what they want and still lose weight since 2004. People have lost up to 100 pounds with this diet, not to mention over 20% of body fat!!!
The basic premise of the Every Other Day Diet is that you can’t lose weight and keep it off in the long run unless you have a healthy relationship with food. If you hate what you eat or resent your diet, you will not stick to it. Furthermore, if you take care to workout right and to allow your body to feast on healthy and lean dishes along with the more fatty things you love to eat, you can still shed body fat at a rapid pace.
That’s why people who use this diet plan can eat whatever they like (in moderation, of course) every other day. On one day you have to eat low-fat high-protein dishes which are meant to trigger and boost the fat burning process in your body. On the other day, you can enjoy yourself even more with more fatty dishes (pizza included, hurray for me).
This may seem like too good to be true, and that was my first impression of it as well, but seeing all the great testimonials as well as the reviews this diet got by other fitness experts slowly changed my mind. I must admit that I’m a big fat of Jon Benson myself and so may be a bit prejudiced. However, I have no doubt that the Every Other Day Diet works.
But, this plan has one main disadvantage: it relies on people’s ability to moderate themselves. You can eat what you like but you can’t over do it. Otherwise you’ll be gorging yourself every 2 days and that would make any fat loss process impossible. I am not sure everyone can be that disciplined, especially when you already allow them to eat what they want.
So, I want you to be honest with yourself. If you have a high level of self discipline, then this program can be a fun way to lose weight. If not, then you need a more strict program. It’s up to you to make the right call.
