Why I haven’t Posted For a While

Hi,

I know I haven’t written a new post on the blog for a while and I deeply apologize for this. It’s just that I’m in the middle of a 17 day visit to Holland and just can’t seem to find the time to sit down at my computer and write anything.

Now, I have a few hours to myself and can write again.

Most people think the French are a miracle in that they never seem to gain weight. Well, I have a similar impression of the Dutch. Practically all of them seem to be thin. Just naturally thin.

When you look at what they eat, you can’t imagine why this is the case. Their cheeses are ultra fat and they eat a lot of fried foods and fatty meats. It just seems that they’re naturally thin.

But I believe that there are 2 main factors in the Dutch daily lifestyle which helps them to remain so thin:

1. They’re active almost every day due to bike riding. You see, here in Holland, everywhere you go there are bicycle lanes and everyone rides them, young and old. They ride to work, to school, to friends, to shop, everywhere. It’s a natural activity which gets the blood flowing, burns calories, and keeps them thin.

2. They live a stress free life. Everything is on the mellow side here in Holland. They’re just naturally calm. Life is very serene here since it seems that there are less of the common day to day problems which people have in other countries. I won’t go into how socialized this society is because it’s not the point.

The point is that by combining these 2 elements: daily activity and a stress free life, the Dutch are able to remain thin despite what seems to be a fatty diet.

Can you make similar adjustments in your life?

I’m sure you can. It’s all in your hands
